George optimistic about BB10
Day -4: George Lamb, host of Big Brother’s Little Brother, believes that the upcoming series will be the best ever. Big Brother will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and host of BBLB, George Lamb, is optimistic about the landmark series. He revealed: “They’re going to throw absolutely everything they’ve got at it this year and they want it to be bigger and better than it’s ever been.” Speaking about the significance of the show over the last decade, Lamb said: “Culturally it’s one of the most important television shows in the history of the medium, and ratings-wise it’s been one of the biggest shows in every domestic market around the globe.” Speculation has been rife recently surrounding the future of Big Brother, following declining ratings and controversy. George admits that the prospect of Channel 4 extending the contract beyond next year looks unlikely. “Davina said that she’s got two years to go on her contract. It’s evident that there is only one more series after this – I’m assuming they’re not going to be doing Big Brother without Davina,” said George. He continued: “Some of the senior guys at Channel 4 – I read in the newspaper – said they would have signed out after series 10 but they’re contractually obligated to do another one.” The presenter hopes that BB10, which launches on June 4th at 9pm, will have exciting tasks to entertain the viewers. He said: “I think this year they’ll really push it with the tasks. Hopefully they’ll be bigger and better than ever.” Keep an eye out! |
