JLS, Robbie Williams and Leona Lewis have come out top in a poll to establish the 'real' Brit Awards winners.

The trio dominated selected categories in the vote to find out which artists were most popular with the general public.

JLS secured a 77% share of the votes in the 'British Breakthrough Act', beating off competition from artists including Florence And The Machine, La Roux and Pixie Lott.

Lewis took a staggering 97% of the votes in the 'British Solo Female' category, despite having failed to win any of her past six nominations.

Williams dominated the 'British Male Solo' award nominations, nabbing 98% of the popular vote in the category.

Elsewhere, Florence and The Machine's debut Lungs had a 51% share of the 'British Album' vote, leaving Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal in second and third place.

Tinchy Stryder's 'Number One' is the most popular choice to win the 'British Single' gong, the former chart-topper taking a 73% share in the poll.

Kasabian garnered most support for the coveted 'Best Group' prize. They secured 62% of all votes in the category.

The poll was conducted by music streaming site Muzu and questioned 5,000 participants.

The Brit Awards are broadcast on ITV1 at 8pm tonight.
