Ray will travel to LA next month to record in the same studio Sinatra used. The swing album is due out in March.

Show creator Cowell said yesterday: "I told Ray I was going to sign him. I wasn't going to tell him yet but I had to after he behaved in such a dignified manner."

His reaction was amazing. After what he did for Leona I didn't want him to go home miserable.


Great to see another artist getting a deal so fast. Good luck to Ray he is a nice enough lad and I hope he does well out there. Congratulations!

He deserves a deal because he was great at doing swing and at just 18 years old its not often you see someone who has idols like Elvis, Sinatra etc.

I think he has brought swing back to a younger audience. I wasn't a big swing fan at all before seeing Ray but seeing him put so much effort into the music he loves is great to see and good for younger people to see. You see rnb, pop music all the time and you don't get someone who does swing who is 18 years old. Normally we would see swing wannabes who are old and in the auditions who we laugh at rather than admire.

Yea i agree with that, before ray I though swing was for old people Lol but since ray has started to sing it he has bought it to a much younger audience

Yeah when Simon started Il divo I thought ok this is going to be a flop..and even with g4 to a point. But they both have done very well bringing old music back into now. I never thought for a second that g4 would be liked...apart from the blonde guy who stood out from the rest but they are doing there 3rd album or something soon so they have done very well.

I'm really pleased that Dionne is close to getting a record deal cause I think she is way better than what her finishing position in TXF said about her. Also really pleased for Eton Road and Ben.
