![]() Weather presenter wanted, no qualifications necessary, must be disabled: BBC posts advert to find new forecaster and the only skill they’re looking for is a disability
An official advert posted on the corporation's vacancies website said the BBC does not currently have any disabled weather presenters and is 'actively seeking to improve on-screen diversity'. It says: 'Do you want to share your passion for the weather by presenting weather bulletins? Do you have a disability? 'The BBC does not currently have any weather presenters who are disabled and we are actively seeking to improve on screen diversity. How discriminatory and prejudicial to able-bodied people - especially those unemployed who have sweated, sacrificed, and studied for years to gain qualifications in meteorology.
Maybe a few will be so desperate for a Weather Presenter's career on TV that they will self-mutilate. Will we hear claims then that; "This presenters job with the BEEB cost me an arm and a leg"? ![]() You could not make it up.

BBC presenters are professional meteorologists who prepare and write their own forecasts using met office data. All other channels such as ITV and C4 just have "presenters" in the main.
