Default X Factor duo get dream Cowell record deal

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/ [my local newspaper!]

X Factor stars Same Difference have been given the Christmas present of their dreams – a record deal from Simon Cowell.
Widley brother-and-sister duo Sean and Sarah Smith have a one-single deal on the Syco label.
And if they score a hit there is an album in the offing – despite coming third in the TV talent show.
Sean, 22, was stunned when he was told the news and said it was the best Christmas ever for him and his 19-year-old sister.
'We are absolutely over the moon. It's what we were holding out for but it means the pressure is back on again.
'We have to sell loads of copies and hopefully make it to No 1 before they will sign us up to make a whole album.'
There is no word yet on what the single will be because X Factor judge Simon Cowell is doing his research, making sure he finds the perfect song for the young following Same Difference have built up over the weeks in the huge ITV reality show.
Since the grand final 10 days ago the pair have begun a whirlwind Christmas tour, wowing audiences across the country.
They have their own tour manager and have been playing big-money gigs in gay clubs, leisure centres and music venues.
In just two days they managed to fit in three gigs in Birmingham, Liverpool and Swansea.
Sean said: 'It is all very professional, they even ask us what we want in our dressing rooms.
'But don't worry, we haven't turned into divas yet.
'I don't ask for rose petals to be strewn over the floor.
'I just make sure all the red ones are taken out of the M&Ms.'
The record deal comes as bookmaker William Hill began taking bets at 8-1 that the pair would become presenters of BBC1's Blue Peter next year.
Considering their huge fan base of schoolchildren it is not beyond the realms of possibility.
Sean said: 'That would be really wicked.
'No-one has approached us yet but we'd snap it up.
'Blue Peter is all about everything we stand for, teaching kids the right thing to do and most of all having fun.'
The pair were looking forward to spending a few days at home having a traditional family Christmas before heading back out on tour again in the new year.
