But omg her voice grates on me....in fact both of their voices grate on me.

He's the typical italian guy with the typical character. I know that because I got many exemples in my family but I have to agree, he's been really harsh on her but in his head, he wasn't being mean or doing anything bad.
I think he's going to realise what happened once he will be out.
But that's the perfect exemple of an italian brother-sister relationship. (Not all brothers and sisters are like this in Italy of course)
