TEARFUL Stuart Pilkington revealed how his daughter Mia nearly died when she was just six days old after being born with a faulty heart.



Speaking about his secret heartache for the first time, the loving dad told how Mia was just seconds away from death before a risky heart operation saved her life.

In an exclusive chat with the Daily Star Sunday, the 25-year-old personal trainer told how he lives in constant fear Mia, now five, could get sick again, missed his daughter so much he spent hours crying in the Diary Room, thinks he is a loser in love and is desperate to meet the woman of his dreams.

Stuart was booted out of the house on Friday after viewers turned on him for moaning about how he missed his daughter.

But he said: “Mia is the most important thing in my life.

“I love her so much and it was hell to be apart from her for so long. 

“She was born with a heart defect and she had to have major open-heart surgery. She nearly died and me and her mum had to spend the first few months of her life constantly in hospital.

“Mia was in an incubator for weeks and it was touch and go for a while. It was a horrible time but it made me closer to Mia.

“Thankfully she is better now but there is a chance she could have problems in the future because basically, part of her heart is artificial.

“She still has to have heart check-ups and these are the things you think of when you’re in the house.”

Stuart was 18 when he got his girlfriend of just three months Danielle pregnant.

The couple split before Mia was born but they tried to make it work when they discovered the baby had the possibly fatal heart condition. 

Stuart said: “I met Danielle when I was 18 and we worked in the same clothes shop. I was a virgin when I met her but I ended up getting her pregnant.

“It wasn’t planned but I have never thought of it as a mistake. It just wasn’t working so we split up.

“After Mia’s operation we tried again for her sake but we both knew it wasn’t right.

“We get on great now. I see Mia every day and we are incredibly close.

“The longest I have been away from Mia before is a week and then we spoke constantly on the phone. So to go in the Big Brother house and not have any contact with her was torture.”

Stuart and Mia spent most of yesterday on the phone together catching up. And they have planned an emotional reunion today.

Stuart said: “She has been watching me and thankfully she said I was her favourite – but she did say she liked Kat.
“I can’t wait to give her a massive cuddle and spend some time with her.

“People say I moaned a lot on Big Brother but I had a great time apart from missing Mia. I would go in the Diary Room and just cry.” 

Stuart became a favourite with both girls and gay men thanks to his bulging biceps and six-pack stomach.

But he said: “I was a geek and ugly duckling at school and it wasn’t until I started working out aged 18 that I got any
attention from the girls.

“The gym became a bit of an obsession though I never took steroids like it has been claimed. 

“I don’t really think I’m good-looking and I’m certainly not a pin-up like Dale.

“I was with my last girlfriend for about three years and I thought she was The One. 

“But she couldn’t deal with the fact I had a daughter so that was that. Now I’m single and looking for love.”

Then why did he go in BB knowing she could be sick anytime.

BB would probably have told him if his daughter was ill and he would have left straight away to go see her.
