The 25-year-old rocker said although she's best of chums with the 19-year-old warbler, that she'd rather scoop the main prize.
Ruth, who has been back on fighting form since being in the bottom two a few weeks ago, said she was bemused by magazine headlines that suggested she didn't want to win the competition.
Ruth said: "I want to win this competition so bad.
"I love Alexandra - but of course, she knows I want to win too. I am Alex's best friend - but I'm a not stupid girl!"
