X Factor - Diana Vickers tells Laura White she's sorry

When Laura White was voted off the X Factor two weeks ago her fans blamed Diana Vickers because she was allowed to miss a week because she was too ill to perform.

Diana has finally admitted that she feels guilty about what happened.

She told the official X Factor website: "I was diagnosed with laryngitis and the next day I was told I had severe inflammation of the vocal chords. I was devastated because I really, really wanted to sing, but I could have risked serious long-term damage if I had of done."

"Watching the show on telly and not being able to be there was one of the worst things in my life. I was in total shock at the end of the show when Laura was voted out, all I wanted to do was give her a big cuddle and I couldn't. It was horrible."

Diana also feels sorry for Ruth Lorenzo who had to sing for survival against Laura.

She said: "I felt so guilty seeing those two girls in the bottom two because they didn't deserve to be there, and I'm sure if I had been there the votes would have been totally different and could have gone a totally different way.

"The feeling of guilt I had was unbearable - I couldn't stop crying my eyes out."

Laura has decided to forgive Diana: "I was so worried she would think it was my fault, but Laura's not like that, the thought didn't even cross her mind. She's such a lovely person.

Its ridiculous Diana is in no way to blame for Laura leaving, someone would have left even if Diana performed and her fans would have definetly saved her so the outcome would still be the same
