Default Is it fair the way the press have treated Britney after being on the X-factor?

Is it fair the way the press have treated Britney after being on the X-factor?

I'm not sure that the British Press have been completely right to jump onto the "let's slag off Britney" band wagon.

She is what she is, a studio artist and a performer. Should we have really expected more than we viewed the other night? We saw close too, Britney performing, yes she was miming, but if you were watching her at the O2 you would have never known.

I dont care if Britney mimes to be honest. Thats what she does, and if her performance is strong enough, you dont even notice. BUt it was lethargic, lazy and she looked like a robot going through the motions.
And furthermore, the way she treated the show is deplorable. They have been stars bigger than her, that appereared on The Xfactor or American idol, and have always managed to do meet the contestants, mentor them a bit, and even sit down with them to chat, so in that aspect, Ive lost the little bit o respect I had for her

Is it fair the way Britney treated the viewers after being on the X-factor?

I joke.
They're a bit harsh yeah but I predicted this.
If she mimed/gave a bad performance, she'd receive backlash.

I love it when I'm right.

I accidentally voted No.

I don't really think they've been that bad about The X Factor performance, it seems to be more about her appearance at the gay nightclub. But yeah, every other celebrity gets stories like this run about them.

i dont believe that weve seen her perform this song before. i dont really listen to much of her music. nor do i follow what is going on in her life. bits and pieces that the tabloids retrieve from there ever so reliable paparazzi friends. who get paid for the dirt they can find on britney. it makes me want to reach. regardless of what you may think of her performance. the lazy lethargic robot performance that you think you saw maybe part of the act itself. it was a showcase performance after all. like a circus showcase. the x factor execs would have paid a lot of money to have her perform. that as ive said already will be ten times the amount that she'd be paid for an interview. also she might have been paid by the hourly rate. or the minute rate. all arranged by her agent. the time she had to speak to the judges would have been a freeby by britney. the performance was different. that would have cost a lot. also britney may have been jet-lagged. we really dont know. i fail to see how attacking her is going to make anyone feel better. if you dont like her then just spit it out. but apparently you had some respect for her. which youve now lost because of one mimed performance and the fact that shes performed it not to your liking. and she chose not to see the finalists. but she has not watched the show. that could be one reason why she performed and then left. perhaps she had other places to be. things to do. people to see. maybe she felt homesick. it could be any number of things. couldnt it? im sure you could respect her again if you really tried. looked further than what you saw on a saturday night. it makes sense.

I don’t think it’s ever fair the way the press treat people. I can see their point of view though. Given the build up to her appearance I found the performance itself rather underwhelming ; no interview, no masterclass, nothing except a lip synched performance of the song. I didn’t see the point of it all.

Not really the press overdo everything.

but for being konwn as the most sought after singer and performer of our time the performance was average.

Yes. She gave a bad performance when it was hyped up as the biggest thing ever so why should it all be glossed over and forgotten about?

Yes. She does deserve this, she is an international superstar and has had many years experience and she mimed. It's not really on, she wasn't even good at her miming. I suppose there was so much hype we were all a bit let down. Also, because of some problems behind the scenes or something like that, I couldn't actually hear the verse's that well - they seemed so quiet. And Callum, Same Difference didn't get this stick because they aren't an international superstar.

I thought Britney did a better performance on Star Academy.
