How can anyone hate Gascoigne, hes a national treasure that bloke.

Tom@Sky: Eyewitness Susan Ballantyne, from Riverside, who is 100 yards from the scene and watching the drama unfold from an upstairs window in her house, said: "Everyone's going on like I should be frightened but it's very exciting. It's normally boring around here. First I see the ginger lad lying around for 2 hours with a shotgun in his mouth, and then I see Gazza being sick on my garden gnome. This is absolutely immense."



On a more serious note, it's an utter tragedy to see someone who once performed wonders on the world stage and had thousands of people worshiping him, week-in and week-out, in such a state.
