Default BBC Undergo Big Brother talks

Endemol plan to sell Big Brother from Channel 4 to another Channel in 2011, the BBC have been in talks on whether to put it on BBC3, or another of it's channel's, they are said to be excited about possibly buying the show, and can re-launch it as a whole new show. C4 bosses reckon however changing it to a digital channel will loose viewers, a spokesperson for C4 said on Friday night- "Big Brother has little viewers as it is, it would be a huge risk for the BBC to do this." Big Brother presenter Davina McCall who has presented Comic Relief and other shows on the BBC is saying that she will finish Big Brother on C4. If the BBC do buy Big Brother they are looking for a new host, rumour has it that Fearne Cotton could be presenting the newly styled show in 2011, the presenter says- "If they are looking for a new presenter, I'd be happy to have a go!"

Heard this from many net sources, and BBC have definatly been having meetings...what do we all think?

Why would C4 be bothered if it lost viewers being on digital?!

I dont think this will be the case at all...most people have freeview now. If they bring the LF back and vamp the whole thing up a bit, it would do well.

Big Brother with no ads yay!!

Wouldnt be a bad move, it is on digital however BBC3 is on freeview which most regions in the UK should have by BB12 as everything is turning digital.

C4 are worried because they want to sell it to a good channel, wich can secure a future for the show.

They wouldnt care, they just want to sell it.

They could of secured a future for the show themselves if they had a braincell between them.

Wheres that from?

Why would C4 care who buys the show and what happens to ratings?

Hmmm, I suppose, and bringing this to BB3 would open up more oppurtunities, the BBC have also been discussing twists, and whole format changes, the house could have an upstairs, Veto and HOH was discussed, they'd hopefully want to make it AS popular as the American version.

Channel 4 has nothing to sell. Endemol owns it and C4 contract ends in 2010.

The BBC also say that if they were to buy it the Highlights shows would have to be shortened, however an interactive red button live feed service would be made available due to the highlights show shorten. Eviction shows would remain the same however the BBC say, more housemates, double evictions, and a shorter time in the house, they want to make it as futuristic as they can, a sexier show.

The official CH4 announcement is a bit cryptic at the end....Where it says BB will get back to you. You can be sure of that.......Me thinks CH4 have left the door open to possibly want it back after a rest period or in case their new plans flop big style.....

That is why they would be concerned if BBC3 made a flop of it........Perhaps!!!!!!!!!

And yes it would mean no ads.

The BBC are planning to advertise it before BB12 starts, they are planning to do all sorts if they buy it, including re-brand it. BBLB and BM will be dropped in favour of a more up-to-date gossip show, sort of like the one show, but more futuristic, and appeal more to the teenage audience. The BBC will do a documentary leading up to the new series and several new format changes are in talks. But this is early stages, the BBC are talking about if they were to buy it, what would they do, and what the future for the show would be from there.

The BBC originally wanted it before Channel 4 did, But the makers didn't think BBC was the right channel for it.

I hope the BBC do get it. It would work very well on BBC 3..

As long as sky don't get it, as I only have freeview.. I've only just got over loosing House to Sky..

As I said, various internet forum sources, BBC sources, lot's of diff media.

Dermot O'Leary said he enjoyed his time of BBCH, however would not return to present it on a different channel. Rumoured presenters are Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby, or Girls Aloud singer KImberly Walsh.

I've also hears the eviction stairs would be dropped and the evicted housemate would walk through doors directly into a studio, full of the crowd, a sort of BBUSA sort of eviction.

It would be Vote to Save, instead of Vote to evict.

As I said, BBC want to RE-BRAND the whole show. Talks for a diff.name are in place, such as Big Brother 0.1 instead of BB12.

I've also heard that they'd drop the Celebrity BB, BB would be on for a smaller amount of time, 40-50 days, and shown around Sept-Oct.
