Default Should a woman be able to slap a man?

You see it all the time, especially in soaps

Women punching and slapping men, you see it in real life too

Why should a woman be able to freely slap or punch someone without repercussions?

I think if a woman slaps a man he should hit her back...

I would't hit a man... never.

they shouldnt its still domestic violence just not as heard of as much as a man slapping a woman
my parents had a violent relationship but it was never my dad always my mum
i dont like how soaps etc almost glamourise it for when a woman is doing it
imo its still wrong and should be treated the same as a man hitting a woman

Yeah, but like if you are hit and shouted at, its almost like a instant natural reaction to being attack

Although I do not condone a man hitting a woman either, although it is acceptable if its a reaction to being attacked (and vica versa)

It depends on the situation.. Its not rite for either male or female to physically attack one or the other.;

I don't think a girl should slap a man if he doesn't expect to be hit back, I would never hit a woman but if she hit me I wouldn't hesitate to hit her back. I hate the way women think they can get away with hitting us loads because they are women. I treat women as if they are anyone else!

Then again the only girls I talk to are the boyish ones lol.

Yes, as long as its fine for a man to slap a woman. I'm against men slapping women, therefore I think its wrong for a woman to slap a man. 99.99999999% of the time I wouldn't even dream of slapping a woman but if one slapped me and I don't think I deserved it then I wouldn't hesitate to hit her back (I sound like a woman beater now ). Double standards IMO if women think they can get away with it.

only if they want a swift back hander in return around their face. Why should they be allowed to hit us, yet harp on about how wrong it is for men to hit women.

Neither should hit either, like they say you get what you give.

Either way it is classed as common assault and therefore illegal.

No it isnt ok for a woman to slap a man. As for women "harping" on about equal rights etc.. well I am all for equality etc.. but as a woman I feel that at times some feminists do more harm than good. I enjoy the fact that my husband carries heavy items for me, I enjoy having doors held for me, hell I even enjoy it when an admiring look happens, why shouldnt men appreciate when a woman looks good.

I wouldn't hit a women so would expect the same resect back in return

what if a situation of, say, a women catches her boyfriend/partner or husband in bed with another women? would a slap in the face be acceptable then?

I suppose it is down to individuals with something like this. I would rather show my utter contempt in ways other than giving someone a smack in the gob. In all honesty though I dont suppose anyone really knows how they would react in certain situation until they are faced with them.

Would that situation be any different to a man finding his partner in bed and giving her a slap?

dont think its right either way... which is why when people are shocked and complain when a man hits a woman but dont flutter an eyelid when she hits him seems weird

No way, what gives a women the right to when a man isn't allowed, its a bit sexist really.
Neither man or women should participate in violence towards one another.

I have slapped a boy, but because he put out naked pictures of me on the internet.
If it was a girl I would have done the same.

I agree with Xander in general though
