Can someone summarise series 1 in a few sentences for me as i missed it but love series 2?

Each character kind of had their own stories really, Annie got killed by her boyfriend but she didn't remember until halfway through and then she focused on getting revenge. Mitchell acidently turned a girl into a vampire and She joined a group of vampires that wanted to reveal themselves to the public who was led by a vampire called Herrick. George's storyline was that he was learning to deal with his problem and that was was going out with Nina. Basically at the end of the series the vampire girl leaves the group and then asks to be killed by Mitchell as she doesn't want to be a vampire anymore which he complies with. Annie gets the chance to move on but doesn't as Mitchell gets staked by Herrick, but he recovers and Annie misses her chance. In the end George ends up turning into a werewolf and killing Herrick and he acidently scratches Nina which leads on to this series.
