Just wondering if anyone knew what the song was all about?
It was from their album ‘Accelerate’ and every time I listen to it I get the impression it’s about something specific that I just haven’t heard of! Or is it just a generally catchy little ditty with no greater meaning whatsoever? Either way, I like it.

I hardly understand any of R.E.M's lyrics. At first they were very enigmatic and then they were singing about American politics. Great band all the same, or at least they were. Life's Rich Pageant is my favourite of their albums.

Yeah, I always liked them. Normally I don't find songs that cryptic, but I just felt that Mr Richards was definitely written about something specific and I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe what annoyed me more was that I really liked the song but didn't 'get' it?
