Default Meat cancer

The Government has urged people to reduce their consumption of red & processed meat to reduce their risk of getting cancer.

How much blood & guts do you consume?

I used to eat a lot of meat, I was addicted to beef and steak

Dont eat much now tbh. But if we listened to all the health warnings we would all be surviving on raw veg and water :S

I'm sitting here trying to think of the last time I ate red meat. Oh, I guess the last time I ate Spag Bol. When I go out I do enjoy a nice thick steak, but I try to stick to chicken and fish at home. I'm addicted to chicken.

I was a veggie for about 6 years, but I really got bored with the lack of alternatives, overpriced food (for what it was), scarcity and going out was a nightmare - esp. eating out oversees.

Eating at other people's houses was awful too - when I was invited - particularly as some people have no idea what to serve a Veggie. "Do you eat fish? Tuna?"

Wow Karezza you dont half spout some drivel.

The human body requires protein in order to survive, the most abundant form of protein available to early man in an easy to obtain form was meat. Early man was not so much a hunter gatherer but more a scavenger.

Early man would eat what was available, nuts berries fruits, the odd animal carcass, even smaller animals or wounded defenceless animals he could easily overcome etc then along came the idea of banding together and going to hunt a larger animal with more meat on it.

Evolution designed us to be omnivores, thats to eat what's available either plant or animal (am including fish insects etc in animal for simplicity). Thats why we are able to process wheats grains nuts and pulses with our longer intestines. Rip apart meat with our sharp front teeth and grind all food with our rear teeth.

Our diet nowadays does include far too much red meat, but than doesnt mean we shouldnt eat any meat. Everything in moderation.

And if god didnt want us to eat meat he wouldnt have made it taste so ********ng good!

I havn't had red meat in ages. I usually have a balanced diet. I eat quite a bit of fish as appose to meat. However you can get cancer from anything now. Just do what you want and eat what you want in moderation. If what you do or eat starts harming yourself or other people.. then STOP. Kapeesh?
