REVIVAL

Terminator 5 director Justin Lin has denied that the entire original cast will return for his sequel.
Fast Five helmer Lin, who will bring Arnold Schwarzenegger back to the series, told MTV that speculation about The Terminator stars Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn reprising their roles is untrue. "No. I don't know where that came from," Lin said. "Everything has just been between me and Arnold, you know? Just us going out and trying to find the right partners. I have certain elements, but it's never been about, 'Hey, let's bring everybody back!' I just don't process that way." Lin added that he is hoping to make a Terminator movie he "always wanted to see", and hinted that his instalment could ignore the events of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and the recent Terminator Salvation. "To me, thematically, there are certain things that I want to see in a Terminator movie," he commented. "A lot of that does draw back to creating this timeline that is an extension, closer tonally to the first and second movies. But to me, it's not as mathematical as, 'Hey, let's get everybody back together and we'll shoot the movie'." Source

Nothing in excess

If this series can't learn to die with some dignity, at least stop desperately trying to contrive and shoehorn Schwarzenegger's presence in it. The man is 65 for goodness' sake. A 65 year old man is not a very convincing image of a humanoid killing machine, much less one which used to look like a 39 year old bodybuilder. That is not going to sell more box office tickets. Move on.

No matter that Amis coins truly abominable terms like 'the age of horrorism' and when criticised tells people to 'fuck off'. Surely we all chuckle at the strenuous ennui of his salon drawl.
