Tenacious D have announced plans to release a new album later this year.

The duo - consisting of Jack Black and Kyle Gass - will unveil their third studio record Rize of the Fenix in May.

It will be the pair's first collection of new music since 2006's The Pick of Destiny which entered the top ten in both the US and UK charts upon its release.

Tenacious D have also announced their first North American tour date, which will be a Memorial Day performance in Washington at the Sasquatch Festival.

The duo will also play a set at this year's Download festival in the UK, which takes place at Donington Park on June 8-10.

Nope only ones confirmed are Stone Roses. We got the letter yesterday saying 7 more will be on and to apply for our freebies now Madonna is rumoured and so is Dre but I doubt they'll be any of the acts announced.
