Fighting the PC Culture

The thing that annoys me most about sports fans is they always describe the games by phrasing it "we" won or "we" kicked their butts or "we" couldn't move the ball or "we" choked. Unless you are a player or a coach, "we" shouldn't be used at all. Please try using phrases like "they" won which is far more accurate and less annoying. Why choose to use the word "we"?

Because fans are a big part of the club? Without them the teams wouldn't exist

No matter how silly it sounds fans can have an impact on a team's performance

The way they incessantly use "we" makes me wonder if they are imagining that they personally won the game or lost the game. Embarrassing.
