I saw Will on RISE this morning

He sang the Sweetest feeling

The 2 american idols were ok but i prefered the woman I think she was called Kelly

I saw it on Ri:se this morning, and I was really impressed and proud of him! I really thought the Americans had outshone our lot up until Will knocked 'em dead! One thought occurred to me tho ... (and I hope I won't tread on any toes when I say this) but thank god it was Will who won the UK version and not Gareth. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would have been having Gareth representing the best the UK has to offer amongst all that amazing talent???

I've now been able to listen to the two finalists, courtesy of the Fox American Idol website. Just click on the little musical note on each picture.

I have to say I'm not overly enamoured with Kelly's voice - maybe it was the song she was singing - but although it's very powerful it's just a bit too fussy for me. Justin is excellent, although to me there's nothing unique about his voice - but of the two I'd vote for him.

Neither of them are a patch on our Will, though.

I'm sorry I missed seeing him on RI:SE - I do wish I was more of a morning person!

I can't remember which one Kelly was, but I have a feeling she might have been the girl that was compared to Hayley Evetts.

Ig, I agree entirely with you on this. Gareth is a nice lad and obviously has his audience at the moment, but he is not incomparable.

Will stood out immediately, and I can remember discussing on here at the time that only Will could pull off going to be paraded in the US. Funnily enough, on the showman/charm front Darius could have too I think.

I wish I had seen Will's performance on this!

He sang Sweetest Feeling and he also joined in with all the 10 American finalists in a Motown medley. He also sang a duet with the winner Kelly but we only saw a clip of that with no sound so I don't know what they sang.
