Default Do you really believe it's all a fix and BB have control over who is evicted?

Ok so perhaps many will think I'm naive but I really don't believe BB can be a fix when people pay money to vote... Surely, of all the staff that have worked on the production team over the years, someone would have gone to the media and outed them.

It really annoys me when someones fave goes and they automatically call it a fix...

Am I on my own here by thinking it's genuine and the votes really do result in the evictee?

i dont think any one evicted is a fix or if someone wins

i do think who they chose for the white room is a fix though and i do think they give extra attention to those they would like to keep in the show. i.e becky etc.
giving scott a secret task when up for eviction etc.
conor suddenly getting loads of time after the public wnated him out.
they do it all for ratings . thats why when they dont tell us whats goin on half the time.

Votes are definfitely not fixed, but BB can affect the outcome using other methods - biased editing for certain housemates, ridiculous twists etc.

they definitely have "chosen ones" who they give favourable edits to and sometimes they win and sometimes they don't, i.e. Grosie was the chosen one and won, aaron last year wasn't the chosen one but still won

Exactly, they do have chosen ones ,this years is Deana and IMO The not telling us if its a double ,after producer said it was, is to try to save Deana ,they are waiting to se how the voting goes before announcing it

They're not allowed to fix the vote..
Although they do fix the editing to try and get the winner they want, ie Jay last year. Didn't show alot of his disgusting antics!

Agree. Messing with the edits; poor sanctions for nomination talk; allowing nomination talk; not ejecting people such as after Conor's rant; allowing noms talk in the form of bitching; having pathetic twists biased for some housemates; waiting on votes before confirming single or double eviction. The list of teechniques employed to influence and manipulate the public could go on.

They cant fix the vote per say. If the votes are counted and verified these are the results end of, but they can fix the results in a different way. They can mess with the phone lines, selective editing, waiting to anounce double evictions etc etc. This year they are making the rules up as they go along and its making the public nervous. Boyfriendless pretty boy Jamie and that hyperactive YTS girl from the task team have ruined this years series.

No its not rigged
Also how is Deana the chosen one? if she was they would not have shown her upsetting Luke S etc - as this has put her in a negative light to some people

I think they definitely manipulate things to get the most people voting, ie show Deana in a sympathetic light and then make it seem like no one on BOTS likes her. Or pit two people against each other when you know they have a certain type of group backing them, like Conor and the Irish or some other housemate and their region/race/belief system/lifestyle.

and they say "who knows, anything can happen" with every single eviction even though you can see based on polls, twitter followers, public opinion etc, that certain people are getting a huge majority of the vote.

You watch, after the show is over they will say something like "it was clear that Deana would win since week X," when they pretended the whole time it was a huge mystery what the public were thinking.

It's not a fix, it's just sour grapes from the fans. I can't abide Aaron who won it last year, but BB didn't fix it for him to win it.

When we had live feed, we never had these discussions, why, because the producers had to play by the rules. CH5 are taking the piss and killing a well worn tried and tested but sometimes old format. Pay peanuts, get monkeys, employ monkeys, dont expect results.

What reason would BB even have to fix the show

Without live feed it's hard to be certain about anything - we see only what they (producers) are willing to show us and that's not much. One daily show covers about 2-3% of all the action of one day in that house, so you can imagine what we could be missing out. From the bits & pieces they are sharing with us, they are able to create a whole different persona for certain housemates (I'm not saying that they do such thing, but it's definitely possible).

its not a fix and people tend to say it is when their favourite housemate is up or something happens against them. There are strict guidelines in all things and no way could a Reality show like Big Brother be fixed

Think what is the pressure on the production company. It is to maximise the audience and hence the advertising revenue.
They would wish to produce entertaining and talked about episodes but could not give a damn which HM wins.

No, I don't think they fix it, however, especially as to such limited highlights programming, my favourite word is that they can very much likely 'engineer' results as to housemates they may wish to.

Yes I'd have to agree the shows producers have almost total control over how the show progresses, they can pick the HM that fit their "types" , they can test them psychometrically build up profiles so they have a pretty good idea how they will react under a variety of stresses. They pick the environment , the settings, the Moods, they pick the tasks and they decide on all the twists.

They can manipulate situations to achieve their hoped for nominations, and then they can edit the HL show to swing public opinion their way. With no live feed how would we know what the HM are really like.

Also by accessing Twitter, Facebook and forum sites like these they can get instant feedback re their audience preferences so can manipulate to keep the show "exciting"

But at least the votes received are not fixed. Good to know the public are in complete control....!!!!
