Dexter's girlfriend and Charlie

Dexter has a girlfriend on the outside. Charlie knew it and flirted with him openly. it is exactly like Daley and Hazel situation, but only worse. Then why both Dexter and Charlie are so forgiven and forgotten? I don't understand why people put them up on pedestal. Dexter is obviously worse than Daley, Charlie is far worse than Hazel in their behaviors. Double standards?
