anyway I just went on that wiki page and then went to read the LOUD wiki and

Only Girl was definitely fresh sounding at the time of its release so idg your point

dancepop doesn't immediately mean generic. and OG and S&M were the only dancepop songs on the album

come back to me when Cher releases a song like Man Down or Cheers

um no not in the US.. the 2000s were the Urban era for the charts, 80% of #1s were hip-hop/R&B songs. just look at 2004.. EVERY number one song was by a black artist

it all started to change in 2008, then more so in 2009 and by 2011 EDM was literally everywhere.

tbh it could genuinely be argued that rihanna helped to popularise dance music in America and opened the doors for the likes of Ke$ha and Gaga
