Default Sufjan Stevens - The Ascension (album out Sep 25)

Sufjan Stevens has announced a new collaborative album with his stepfather Lowell Brams (aka the Lowell of Carrie & Lowell). It’s called Aporia and it’s out March 27 on Asthmatic Kitty, the label that Stevens and Brams founded together. Below, check out the new song “The Unlimited.” Scroll down for the cover art, tracklist, and a playlist of songs that inspired the album, featuring Enya, Boards of Canada, Fennesz, and more.

Aporia was recorded over the span of several years. “You know how it is with jamming,” Stevens writes in a press release, “ninety percent of it is absolutely horrible, but if you’re just lucky enough, ten percent is magic. I just kept pulling out these little magical moments.” Stevens and Brams previously collaborated on 2015’s Music for Insomnia.

since this was a boring ambient instrumental mess, it pleases me that there'll be another album out on September 25, called The Ascension
