Default Sarah Champion Labour MP says she takes a Paracetamol before Question Time

She was on BBC1 breakfast
and says if she has to go on PMs Question time
30mins
she has to take that drug.

I think it was metaphorical - ie its so noisy in there it gives you a headache?

many women mps are not happy with PMQ barracking and would like some cushions for the back benches and candles

It's pretty sensible really...she knows the noise and silliness is going to give her a headache and so she is taking precautions rather than a headache developing and impairing her during proceedings

..I'm sure I recall reading somewhere once..(I don't know if it's true..)..that if you take medication/paracetamol etc because you think that you may have a headache coming on/the possibility of one..?..taking it will actually induce a headache because you really don't need it and then it becomes a vicious circle..you take medication for that headache which you have induced by taking medication etc.... which also starts to 'trick' your mind into having headaches...

They should bring an end to the noisiness & rowdy behavior. Just because it's tradition it doesn't make it any less silly, plus it makes parliament seems like some strange parody comedy show.

The politicians are well educated & articulate.

So she may be susceptible to headaches or migraines due to loud noises... would anyone expect an asthmatic or diabetic not to take meds for their conditions?...

PMQ's,(particularly under this Prime MInister and to a large degree the last one,Gordon Brown, as well), has descended into total farce and nonsense.
I doubt I would even bother to ask David Cameron a question as you will never get an answer, just a speech and then him asking questions of everyone else.
Which is the total opposite of what PMQs should be about.

What tripe from this MP however, if anyone needs the paracetamols or any other headache supposed remedy, it is the people who are genuinely interested in politics who sit and watch this farce week in and week out.

PMQ's does not a thing to encourage people to politics, does nothing to impress as to how our Parliament works.
All it does is show MPs of all parties in a negative light and every week David Cameron the main supposed star of it all,in my opinion at least comes across as shifty, evasive and not to be trusted on anything at all.

I know it wouldn't be parliamentary procedure but how I would love for Ed Miliband to just even for one week when he is called by the Speaker, to just say, 'he has no questions since it is pointless to ask this PM anything as no answers would be forthcoming anyway'.

Quite frankly when I watch PMQs, with anyone else, I feel almost embarrassed by it all.

Surely a paracetamol is pretty tame? Watch ten minutes of PMQs and it'll become abundantly clear that everyone else in that room, is on crack cocaine. She's just trying to join in the fun without developing a crippling addiction - should be applauded! She wont get much of a buzz from paracetamol, though .

I don't get your point.

Are you saying it is better, men howling at each other like a street market?
These are supposedly educated civilised gentlemen AND LADIES, and yet in there behave like children...
Are you saying they always behaved like that, or that it was then an exclusively male dominated environment, or both?

Well we don't know if it was any better or worse 100s of years ago, how do we know if all that time ago whigs and tories didn't take some herbal remedy to aid them through the debates?

PMQs have been the same way for years. Maybe the woman is in the wrong job? Or perhaps the whole thing should change in case she gets a case of the vapours.

I've sat in on PMQs many times. Everyone's entitled to... if anyone wants to go, contact your MP and ask them to arrange admittance for you. It's really interesting.
