Whilst Emma was interviewing Judy James (on BBOTS) about the impact on the HMs with regard to the 3 newbies, she (Judy James) said, at one stage, "they (meaning Helen & Ashleigh) kind of kept their heads down a little bit. I mean Ashleigh did that, it looks, she looks like Bette Davis in" and then Emma interrupted Judy by saying, "she looks quite happy though." I ask the question of a certain generation and who might be Bette Davis fans (as I am) - do you think that Judy James was about to say "Whatever Happened to Baby Jayne?" as in Baby Jayne Hudson, who was a young blond girl and who Ashleigh actually looks a bit like,

I think its more simple Emma does not know who Bette Davis was and so cut the reference instead of trying to explain it.. Emma did not know who the Borgias were either.

And imo Judy James in her last two appearances has talked more s**t than normal.

I don't think it was about her not understanding the reference, Emma tends to cut people off in the middle of sentence by throwing out her own small thoughts. Sometimes it's needed to keep an interview on track, other times it's annoying that they can't complete what they are saying without being stopped.

I would say her early films when she wa a blonde and not a redhead or later brunette so perhaps Dangerous

Thats exactly who she was about to say, though a little unfairly, as Bette davis was in her 60's when she made that movie

Brilliant movie though, very dark, if you havent seen it...........WHY NOT?
