If you had one big eye and someone poked you in the eye you would be stuffed so I think I'd have six smaller eyes.

Excellent philosophical question though Sheriff I really applaud you on that one.

Hmm, I think on balance 6 small eyes, just in case I could lose the sight in the one for any reason.
At least with 6 I would still have others to fall back on.
