Default New Years Dinner

What's for New Years Dinner?

We have ours delivered in and I think I'm having the steak for a change this year (we had our traditional stew with crusty bread last night before the bells anyway)

Then after our dinner we light and set off lanterns for our loved ones that have passed away, we put little messages on the lanterns for each of them, it's something we do every year and I love it.

So whats your New Years Dinner going to be and do you have any other plans or traditions?

Nothing special here, really need to wind down from the bit of Christmas over eating. So will stick a quorn roast in soon, then just have some of that with boiled potatoes and swede

Love your Lanterns for missed loved ones you do Josy, might adopt that idea for New Year next year.

Really?

New Year is a really big thing in Scotland basically on the same level as Christmas so we always have the big meal, traditions etc.

Maybe it's not celebrated as much elsewhere?

Actually I'm quite worried about our lanterns atm because the weather is dreadful, really heavy rain and gale force winds right now, hopefully it calms a bit.

Same as Christmas almost for me ,as it isn't my Mum cooking the dinner but me doing it in the main, for myself and my Cousins with me at present.

The only difference is we will be having it this evening rather than early afternoon, unlike at Christmas.

I've had one of the best Christmases and the best New Year's Eve for years. Last night's revelry was brilliant, the company excelled, and I actually drank more than I have for years. So all day I've been not so much hungover, but tired, so it's been a case of chilling and having the 'munchies', and I've been steadily stuffing myself with alternating 'savoury' then 'sweet' goodies all day culminating in a gorgeous homemade chicken madras curry with basmati rice late dinner.

Kazanne you'll be reight proud of me, I had one of them beef quorn roasts. Tasted like one of Marsh's wanking socks but with a bit of stuffing it was alright in the end.
