Leona, the X Factor's first female winner, is now favourite for the prized Christmas No 1 slot with a cover of American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson's song A Moment Like This.

More than eight million votes were cast on the night which ended with 21-year-old Londoner Leona winning a £1m recording contract.

She beat Liverpudlian Ray Quinn, 18, in the final and judge Simon Cowell reckons she's the best singer ever on the show. Louis Walsh said "delivered with every song".

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: "Leona is by far the best X Factor contestant in three years of the show and we wouldn't dream of taking bets on her achieving at least five number ones in 2007.''

Shes been on.

Brenda Edwards from series 2 was on aswell.
Leona was so happy and sweet, and even cracked a few witty comments etc. Definately not 'cracking under pressure'

Brenda made her a 'Popstar Pack' with loads of 'diva' things like sunglasses and lilies, and she loved it.

Shes doing a webchat at 9.30am www.gm.tv
