This was on the Cards
as the backing money halted http://news.sky.com/story/1481703/jo...terbox-service This service was in London and other cities only. It may have been planned to expand but with no backing money it looks grim. [Up to 2,000 jobs are at risk after the private postal firm Whistl suspended its door-to-door letter delivery service. The company, formerly known as TNT Post, has moved to stem its losses after its private equity backer LDC pulled out of funding a further rollout of the end-to-end E2E service.] It was better than the Royal Mail letterbox delivery as it employed long term out of work people in the main. This is sad
this was on early morning on Radio 5 Money Report a worker who was at a base he was waiting for for the normal load of letters to arrive. There was a delay then his team leader had to take a call she came back in tears. He said they were aware there was delay on the Expansion due to not getting full funding but had no idea his London branch was going to stop. he gets paid to till Saturday only, he also said, he had been been out of work before this, for a long time. He liked his Contract and Job. Last edited by arista; 12-05-2015 at 03:39 PM. |
