For example... Nominations took place on Monday. Invariably they were done in the privacy of the diary room. They were then revealed on Tuesday during BBLB.
Now, they change what day they are done, they have all either been done in the open or been revealed to the housemates immediately afterwards, and no one watching has any idea when the results are revealed. I know people on here aren't as negative about what this show has become as me (though I continue to be baffled by this), but it really is shockingly poor how chaotic the format of this show has become. It's one thing for the housemates not to know where they stand, but when the viewers have no idea what is going on as well is it any wonder they feel so disillusioned with it all? I am now looking at BB as a totally different show, housemates in there will still come in with their good sides and bad sides like before.
However I am now programming myself just to expect the unexpected and that anything can now go as to BB series. BB now control, manipulate and engineer both nominations and eviction, that is now not really down to all the housemates any more. So I now going to detach myself from that process and just see and then take what comes. Otherwise I would be switching it off and not bothering to watch again and I have loved BB too long to even want to do that. It is not the same show at all now, BB themselves have killed off the real idea of BB but maybe this is the way forward. Time will tell. |

I like the way things are going now. After years of watching the format it's refreshing (for me) to have that change because in the past it became all too predictable. Not that I'm saying predictable is a bad thing.
What makes it work better for me is that the housemates no longer know when things are happening. I found it tiresome when they were second guessing what was happening. It's such a psychological rush and with BB changing things around the housemates become even more confused/paranoid.

I think it has to be viewed as an entertainment show, and you like it or you don't. I've been pretty close to throwing things at the TV even with that philosophy, if I still had expectations of old BB, my TV would already have gone out the window.

![]() Some of the things still niggle away at me, but for the most I just take what's thrown. I know they've changed quite a bit over the last few years, but the original concept still holds the show together, in that I still view it as a human experience. Throw in a mixed bunch of people and watch how they interact with each other. Last Friday's 4 out 4 in was brilliant because you could see the strain it put on them. They thought they were safe for another week and wham! The game was ripped from under their feet. I love how they are approaching this coming fake eviction. All too often the housemates would guess a secret room was happening because it was at least two people getting evicted together. I can't see them second guessing one housemate to go into a secret room and I doubt they will be thinking ex-housemates will be watching on from a secret room.

It's a shambles and a mess. The producers are horrendous!

I agree with you, I feel like in the past when twists happened, we were in on it but now it's like we're being played and manipulated almost as much as the hm's. If you think back to Simons launch night eviction and Jack being offered the car (if he'd taken it and left the house - essentially an eviction), when we were asked to vote we weren't told that either scenario could result in an eviction (and in Jack's case, if he'd have taken the offer, everyone who voted for him because they liked watching him would have seen their vote result in him leaving - I know there's a lot of Jack hate here but I'm surprised there wasn't more discomfort about the principle of this), we were just told "something bad" or "something good" would happen. Which means that instead of being in on the surprise and wanting to watch in order to see how the hm's react, we're bribed into watching, just to find out what the surprise is going to be, it's actually quite clever how they engineer it now, but obviously frustrating for long time fans.
I don't think any of the twists are designed to actually make the show better in any way, but if they didn't exist, the show would have to rely on the strength of it's characters, and I don't think the producers have any real faith in them this year. Or maybe I'm too cynical lol ![]() |

By the way, do we know who the hell is up for eviction yet?

It's only Sunday, we don't usually get confirmation this early, do we?

It can't be all that bad if it keeps you watching.

On and off at best. Hoping it might get better. Or so bad that they have to make the sort of changes we, the fans, have been telling them they need to for years. I'm somewhat fascinated by how awful it has become.
