Jo constantly speaks about Shilpa in a negative way, to as many people that will listen, so that they will think that she (Jo) is so interesting and wonderful, and Shilpa is all the bad things that Jo says she is. If you took Shilpa away, Jo would just find another victim to leach off (slag off to make herself appear better), because that is what her personality invloves.

Compare that to Shilpa, who is admittedly an extrovert, and loves attention, but is willing to try and entertain people with her personality her good humour or her talents. There is always the chance that people wont be interested, but Shilpa is mature enough to calm down when she needs to. She's a great girl and im surprised you cant see it.
