The housemates are rubbing along a little too nicely for Big Brother's liking. So very soon, the housemates are going to be split up.

Today, Big Brother will reveal the latest task which housemates must complete. Housemates will have to form two bands, one to be fronted by Ian, and the other to be fronted by - who else - Jermaine.

And here's where it gets really exciting: we want you to decide who should win the Battle of the Bands.

The housemates have no excuse not to show up at band practice today. But all that counting, clicking and dipping is beginning to take its toll.

The cracks in the Steps tribute band were starting to show. Those 90s reach-and-grabs were proving a lunge too far for Jack.

"Do I have to sing?" he grumbled, looking over his words for the first time. "I'll sing it later."

"We need to do it now!" scolded Jade, who'd been furiously harmonising.

"I will get it later," he said.

"I'm worried about if you don't sing we might lose the task," added Ian, trying to calm things.

"Can you sing the melody?" Jack asked.

"Sing it with Ian," suggested Jo helpfully.

"Oh come on, Jack," tutted Jade again.

"Let me just read it," said Jack, waving his lyric sheet. "Keep going like that and I'll shove this down your throat."

"Oooooh!" said Jade, sitting on the sofa.

"Look," interrupted Ian, presumably pre-empting murder on the dancefloor. "We're all learning new stuff. Just do what feels natural."

As though making a box with your hands is something people do all the time.

Deep breaths everyone, from the top. We don't want a walk-out blamed on musical differences just yet...

You have crowned Jermaine and his band champions...

They sang, they danced, and thanks to you, Jermaine and his band conquered. YOU have voted to make them the winners of the tribute band task.

Jermaine and his kinda 'Jackson 5' - Shilpa, Cleo, Dirk and Danielle, took on Ian and his Step-ettes - Jade, Jack and Jo. And then it was down to you to vote for the winning band.

Thousands of you cast your votes, we counted and verified them and can reveal that Jermaine and his band have been crowned champions of the Big Brother Battle of the Tribute Bands. In fact, it was a massive triumph for them, as they received a whopping 75% of the votes!

As a reward, Big Brother provided the winning band members with a special gold disc - and all of the housemates with a Jackson 5 themed party, with outfits and everything! They were given a lovely spread of chocolates, fancy fruit, beer, champagne and er, fish, and they wasted no time in getting stuck in.

And as an extra special treat, after Big Brother had announced the results, the winning performance by the Jackson 5 tribute band was shown on the plasma screen, so Jermaine et al could relive their champion performance. Cheers and laughter broke out, and all Jermaine could muster was: "Oh, God!"

Let's hope they don't stop partying 'til they get enough!"
