Actually he made really good points,I found all he said interesting but this should have been a historical look at Labour he was holding.
This speech had little to say about the leadership election.

Some good facts and figures and good statements of past leaders too. I was pleased he didn't join in the name calling and going too far as to warnings of doom and gloom if Corbyn got elected as leader.

It is all very well for some of the supporters of Tony Blair to go no about him winning 3 elections.
He was successful although very fortunate in his 3rd election in 2005,in that the Conservatives did not rise strongly in the voting.
However, reading back, Neil Kinnock laid out a lot of the base for Tony Blair to do well and even moreso John Smith in his short time as leader before him too.

Tony Blair really just reaped the rewards of those 2 leaders hard work over the previous 8 years from 1988 to 1997.

That is his style walking across the stage/platform.

I really found all he said interesting but it did nothing to help many,I would think, as to how to vote in this leadership election.

They are all going to the past, David Cameron has brought back many policies from the Thatcher era.

Nothing wrong with the past, reading back as to how things were before,it appears we had the answers then a lot of the time, whereas now we are back to the questions again.

He did sell off badly the gold reserves however he did many other good things as Chancellor too.
Under Heath, maybe even Wilson, Callaghan, Major and Tony Blair too,we would have likely been part of the Euro under any of those,Tony Blair definitely wanted to go for it.
Who stopped it however, none other than Gordon Brown, he would have none of it and ruled that out totally while he was Chancellor.

Good and bad things are done by all Chancellors.

when ever i see brown i just think joke - after tony blair who i adored and done so much for labor (excluding the so called war which he will always be hated for ) the reason being he wanted to double the tax of the less well off - to me this went totally against what labor stands for so this is why i think this man is a joke.

its like a tory coming out and saying - lets make the rich pay more tax and the less well off less tax its not going to happen.

Actually,I think Gordon Brown would have been a better PM from the start in 1997.

I am not that sure he would have been so keen to get involved in the Iraq situation again the way we did too.

However, by the time Tony Blair stood down, Gordon Brown just was not up to the PM job at all by then.

Gordon Brown and Tony Blair are no longer relevant. Who cares. They were both out of touch with "the people" during their administrations, and its only got worse since

totally agree.....by 97 the tories were so hated, worzel gummidge would have won the election...but blair had more faces than worzel
blair went way over the top , there was no need to scrap clause 4, without clause 4 its simply not the labour party

labour has a track record, of destroying are economy when in power, and only helping scroungers, supporting political correctness, is beyond sheer madness, tony blair got us into wars that where nothing to do with us, and signed up to the so called human rights act, so his wife could milk the system, in helping criminals, brown selling off are gold, has made things worse than it has ever before, labour is under the thumbs, of the workers union, and the socialist party, how can the party make economic polices when they are being poked by two fingers in the back, the problem with the party is that they are more of a middle class party than a working class party, and champagne socialism is now what they are, 16 to 25 year olds who are paying members, are not even from poor working class backgrounds, but from perfect class backgrounds, and are students, and mummy and daddy paid for their education, and russell brand telling everyone to vote labour, its very poor PR, british people need to wake up and vote for parties that are not in the top two places, alot of people have said that all mps are the same, and all parties are the same, but it is people who vote for same parties, too get seats, its like pushing the rewind button in every election.

WHAT A SHIFTY CHARACTER....the new labourites are showing once again whata vile evil pernicious bunch of weasels they are .......corbyn is right on the energy companies, on bt and on the trains....he was right about the illegal Iraq war, hes right to recognise the plight of Palestine ....but he needs to recognise what a disaster Europe is and new labour is and how they destroyed the economy and the nhs..the nhs has been a disaster for years and needs massive overhaul....he also needs to destroy political correctness and bring back freedom of speech
