 why? If you are going to want to have a log fire going for 14 hours wouldn't you want to be there anyway so just chuck another log on  ...it doesn't look very good as most of the fire is swamped by the waiting logs, it's not practical to sit around as either side would have no heat, so it's a no from me..a fire pit or brazier is the way to go

I have a fire pit. I use it a lot. I still fancy having a go at this though. Great for a party because it stops people fecking with my fire.
