A lot of big businesses are switching philosophy in this way. For years there was a big focus on "brand awareness" where they would keep stores that were making an overall loss open just to have a market presence, subsidising them with money from more profitable branches.
In the last couple of years there seems to have been a switch to only keeping stores open if they are profitable or can at least break even and be self-sustaining. Places that make losses are quickly given the chop. Last edited by user104658; 10-09-2015 at 09:54 PM. |

I think it's the city centre 'convenience' stores, there are 2 in Leeds as well as a supermarket, rents must be astronomical.
