Default War in Iraq

It seems every forum has an active thread discussing the current military action in Iraq, apart from TIBB. The only one I saw so far on a quick scan are those written before outbreak of hostilities.

On the Channel 4 forum it seems everyone is saying that George W Bush and Tony Blair and all members of the armed forces involved will be extradited for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Apparently Saddam Husain is so good that he makes Mother Terresa look like the Devil incarnate, by the way the anti war crowd go on. (At least they are allowd to say that, more than can be said for the people of Iraq.

BTW came across this cute movie file

I think, well speaking for myself, the subject of the war is being very much discussed everywhere you go and this forum is a place for escaping the issues for a little while. Everyone has different opinions and it is not clean cut either way, there is always an arguement for every point that you make.

I think that the point about Tony Blair and George Bush is that they have gone to war slightly unjustified and that they are thinking of charging Saddam Hussein with war crimes when it is them that started the war.

Everybody knows that Saddam Hussein has (using very simple language) done some very bad things but surely war is not the answer? Bush and Blair say that only government and military are targeted but i am sure that there will be many civilian casualties on the way.

I myself am anti-war for many reasons and have been on two protests since bush and blair attacked iraq this week. Many of you will say that i am naive and dont know much about it but i do and my opinion is that we should not be at war.

Having a cousin in the marines in Kuwait i am of course very worried as well which means that it is on my mind a lot of the time but I personally would not want this forum to be split up over an issue and it is certain that we would all have different opinions which we could argue over to eternity.

I agree with you Sara that I think it is nice to come somewhere and escape from issues such as this. I'll give my opinion once here, but won't be commenting again.

Personally I am completely behind this war and, even though I know my opinion on this is a very unpopular one here, have always thought that is the right course of action.

War is always awful and should always be the last resort, but there are some times when it is necessary, and I think that this is one of those times.

I also know someone who is out in the gulf at the moment, the husband of a very close friend of mine is there. I hope it is all over quickly and that there is the minimum loss of life on both sides.

I know that most of you on here will disagree with me on this, but this is my view and I'm sorry if it offends.

I am against this war but now people are protesting to stop it I just can't see that happening really.

Protesting in my view does nothing in today’s world, so we have started the war lets just get it over and done with.

I think deep down i know that protesting means nothing but i want to make myself feel like i am doing something and letting my views known however little the result is. Sitting at home watching the bombs and blown up buildings makes me feel so angry and sad and going to the protests lets out some of my frustration.

all the wool livered looney liberals are crazy.

look at the scenes in a few days/weeks of the iraqis cheering and smiling at the brits when they liberate iraq.

war is bad sure, but a horrible end is better than un endending horror.

weve got 50,000 boys in there as well as 1,200 aussies- y dont they get recognition from the us politicians and the us media?

We all have differing views and i'm sure that mine are well known by now. Everyone's views are their own and shouldn't offend anyone else.

This happened in WW2 as well, it's nothing new and shame on our politicians for letting it happen again!

I think we could talk about this for hours.
What i think about the war is important to a certain degree and i'm for it, for many different reasons, but as some have said, it is nice to come somewhere and escape from issues such as this.
Every one has an opinion and so they should!

I'm back on here because I am sick to death of wall to wall "Reality TV" care of 30,000 journalists, half a dozen tanks, a couple of thousand military and screens all in bright green.

Now I think its time Saddam moved over and he is a s**t, but I'm not impressed by Bush or Blaughhh either, (Come back Maggie....).

The whole thing is about aggression, which is why Big Brother 3 upset me so.

I simply don't appreciate being fed what the Media call entertainment!

In light of comments from sweetlittlesara about keeping TiBB as a haven from talk of war, I have opened a thread on the James site so those who want to discuss the military action can discuss it there. This thread can then be locked

War in Iraq (Cont.)
