After saying "Bag Lady"
he should have said Dark Humor Alert
or something



[Stephen Fry appears to have deleted his Twitter account after being criticised
for calling the winner of the BAFTA award for costume design a "bag lady".

I don't get it, it was obviously a joke (and even if it wasn't, it was hardly offensive... was it???), why would people complain about that?!

The offence people are taking on her behalf for something they have no real clue about (and was a joke between friends anyway) is ridiculously OTT and pearl-clutchy - okay, maybe he shouldn't have made that joke when the people watching wouldn't have known that's what it was, but this culture of taking immediate offence on behalf of others is a bit comical, ironically
