Following his hospitalisation for a chest infection last week, Strictly Come Dancing's Brendan Cole has announced he may be replaced this Saturday.

Fellow professional Gorka Marquez could pair up with Anastacia instead in a quickstep routine choreographed by Brendan, who has been told to rest by doctors.

Brendan had rushed himself to A&E the night before he was due to take to the floor with Anastacia last weekend, but was able to dance in the end.

Following a few days' rest, he revealed on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two that he hopes to be told on Thursday if he is fit enough to perform - as his celeb partner learns the steps through her lessons with Gorka.

Gorka has only recently left the show, after he and his partner Tameka Empson were voted off in week three.

....awww I hope that Brendan is on his way to recovery in his health now...poor Anastacia as well though to have to get used to and connect to a new partner.....that'll be so hard for her, I hope it doesn't put her off her vibe because she's been amazing.../well, everything about Ana is amazing however she does in this...good luck Ana with your new partner.....

okay so if Brendan is well enough on Saturday to dance, he'll be dancing otherwise Gorka will replace him, just as a back-up


so they are using Gorka now as a back-up dancer
