Default What is a bad example?

Some people think celebs who dress slutty are setting a bad example to their young and often impressionable fans.

I personally think that celebs who behave badly are the ones setting a bad example.

I give you Kate Moss and Pete Doherty with their drug addictions. Nicole Richie with her DUI charges. Hugh Grant with his inappropriate blowjob.

I would say that's a much worse thing than how a person is dressed. After all, it's just clothes, and personal taste in fashion. But, bad behaviour is destructive.

Discuss...

It's the attitude. All about the attitude. The way you are, how you respond to people, how you carry off the clothes you wear. I suppose I did discuss it in more detail (quite a lot more, in fact) in a previous post. But I really do feel a celeb setting himself/herself as a bad example has plenty more to do with the representation they choose to give of themselves to the media, or indeed that may just be the way they truly are.

I couldnt give a monkies chuff what people wear as long as they behave in an appropriate way.

I certainly wouldnt like my teenager to take her inspiration from some of the people you mentioned Stropz. That said though we all make mistakes and should those that make one silly error in judgement be forever vilified. For example Hugh Grant - I mean yes I think that we forever have point and laugh rights but does it make him a bad guy? I'm just not sure.

I don't think it makes him a bad guy Sunny, especially since he clearly regrets it and can see that he done wrong. All you need to do is go to The Smoking Gun and you will find a whole host of celebrity mugshots. So, it's certainly not uncommon for celebs to do wrong or get in trouble.

However, if they show remorse, and change their behaviour then obviously they should be allowed to move past it. But, people who re-offend continuously, show no regard for the law and clearly don't have a sense of right and wrong do deserve to be villified.

I am with you there. I know that many people like her and thats down to personal choice but Nicole Richie really annoys the life out of me. She wants to be a celeb and with that comes responsibility. She has to realise that young people will think she is cool and should come out and say "I was wrong"

Slightly off-topic here, but I was just in TSG site and felt compelled to post this for Markus:

^^ He's John Lennon's killer. Hates him!

And on the subject of Nicole. We don't even know if she did do it. If she did she should be punished.

I agree with you Stropz about showing remorse. Its all very well and good saying sorry but its probing it that makes the difference.

Pete Docwhateverhisnameis is a prime example. How many times has he been out in front of a judge because of his behavior? Too many in my opinion and what has he got. Not much.

Yet he still parades round as if its all a bit of fun and games. Ohh please grow up and gets some morals. I supposed he thinks he’s all rock n roll. Pffs!

Well hopefully a big rock will fall from the sky and land on his napper and he can roll straight to the nearest freshly dug grave.

I can't stand that b@stard. Can you tell?
