PRESENTER Davina McCall admits she can't wait for the first sex in the Big Brother House.

The reality TV show returns tomorrow, with a £70,000 prize at stake.

But never mind the winner - the whole nation is waiting to find out who will have the first fully fledged romp. The UK is the only country producing Big Brother that hasn't had a sexual encounter on screen.

But Davina admits that, even if a couple get "cosy", it might not be shown because of TV guidelines.

She said yesterday: "Obviously, we can't show full sex on television. But I don't see how you could keep something as fabulous as that under wraps. We could show it, but only up to a certain point. With Jade and PJ it was obvious what was happening."

Last year, Jade and PJ had a drunken fumble under the covers. Neither would confirm that an "act of a sexual nature" took place. But Davina said: "I don't care what they say - we know. I love her and I love him but - we know."

It will be her fourth time as the main Big Brother host - and the second time she's been pregnant.

When Brian Dowling won Big Brother 2, the nation watched Davina's growing first pregnancy and laughed at her Big Mutha T- shirt on the final night.

So after 36 Big Brother contestants, who is her favourite?

Davina revealed: "I've got two - Brian, then Anna. Brian purely for comedy. He just had me in stitches. And Anna because she's been the only housemate that I genuinely thought at the end, `I'd quite like to be your friend. I could definitely hang out with you. You're my kind of person.'

"If I was at a party, Anna, Brian, Alex and Jade. Alison was nice too."

There have been some baddies since Big Brother started - from Nasty Nick to Stuart to Adele.

And although Davina won't say who she didn't like, she added: "I felt uncomfortable with Adele because she had no idea what was coming.

"Her face ... I thought, `God, this is actually awful.' But I think she redeemed herself in the interview. I was quite worried about Tim, too."

The 12 new people , six boys and six girls, are currently holed up in secret locations. Tomorrow, they'll make the long walk up the stairs to the revamped Big Brother house, at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

They will be watched 24 hours a day - and as well as the prize money, the reward could be a television career, like previous winners Craig Phillips, Brian Dowling and Kate Lawler.

There's also the chance they could emerge from the house as one of the most hated people in the country.

This year, it has been widely rumoured that one of the housemates will be a trans-sexual. But the full list of contestants is being kept under wraps until tomorrow.

The poor and rich divide of last year won't be back.

What will return will be the weekly task, where housemates have a job that will determine their weekly food budget.

Davina doesn't have any secrets on how to win, adding: "The public go by what they see, so in a sense it is almost impossible to be judged unfairly on Big Brother.

"Jade got a hard time in the papers but I think the general public felt sorry for her."

Her best memories are still from the first Big Brother and the moment Nasty Nick was kicked out for cheating.

Davina said: "It was so dramatic. The other thing I love about Big Brother is that first- week fear that I'm not going to like the housemates as much as last year's. Literally four days in, something happens and I'm hooked again."

As well as the nightly shows on Channel 4, there will be 24-hour coverage on E4 and the internet. Dermot O'Leary returns with his half-hour Little Brother show from Monday to Friday, with a one- hour Sunday edition.

Trust Davina. I read somewhere that she said she felt extra sexy when she is pregnant so she is obviously hoping to pass this on to the housemates. Well we shall see.
