The problem is India is right. As a trans M2F person although ive always been Female inside i know this only too well hence the frustration and justified anger sometimes from myself and some other trans women like India because of all the ignorance and sometimes plain bigotry against us is why it takes so long for us to change our bodies to match what our minds have always been. Because there is such widespread ignorance and sometimes bigotry is why even though we have the highest suicide rate we only get funding for one op,
to get what s between our legs changed and have to fund all the other ops we need to be convincing and escape all the bigotry which is very expensive and takes us a long time to save up for. im 52 just bit older than India, and it ll still take me another 6 years to save up for all the ops. Its no wonder we are frustrated at that and its scandalous we don t get more funding for all the ops we need when we have the highest suicide rate but those in charge of funding usually have connections to politicians always thinking abut reelection so because of the widespread ignorance and sometimes bigotry about us they daren t fund moer for us in case they don t get enough votes to get reelected. Its an absolute outrage. Its about time people understood why we are the way we are and that we have a Female brain inside which studies have proved for the vast majority of us and that people stopped associating us with and thinking we were the same as drag queens, transvestites and that it is the same as being gay. All these things are obvious and should not need us to keep explaining to people so many times over and over. It s already been explained to people so many times.Have you any idea how frustrating it is to explain all the things to people so any times and they still don t get it when they should be bright enough to work out most if not all of these things themselves without us ever having to explain ? and have you any idea how frustrating it is to then still be misgendered or still automatically be thought of with one of the so common wrong conceptions of us like thinking we are the same as drag queens, transvestites or that we are gay and people don t understated that we have the brain of the gender we are but inside the wrong body and that its about our gender identity our real gender identity inside because the gender of the brain is far more important than the gender of the correctly or incorrectly created organs when they should ve been able to work out these things themselves. The truth of it is most people are too thick so aren t able tio get or work out these obvious things themselves..But India although correct because most of them do secretly still think these things of her which you can tell by their reactions and by the misgendering they still ignorantly or biogotly think that she is a man choosing to be female WHEN ITS NOT A CHOICE ITS SOMETHING WE HAVE TO DO but still view her secretly as a man, shes right about all of it but the problem is it does her no favours because people don t like to be reminded of how ignorant and thick they are that s the real reason for the bad reaction against her. |

“Trans people have brains that are different from males and females, a unique kind of brain,” Guillamon says. “It is simplistic to say that a female-to-male transgender person is a female trapped in a male body. It's not because they have a male brain but a transsexual brain.” Of course, behavior and experience shape brain anatomy, so it is impossible to say if these subtle differences are inborn.

Welcome to the forum, good to have your point of view on this subject. If you don't mind me asking, how do you know you have a female brain though? I mine what makes a female brain, surely all our brains are different?
I'm not trying to be smart or insulting here, I am just genuinely curious to hear your thoughts on this

Anywho on the topic of India although I despise her I understand why s(e is the way she is but imo I don’t think it’s a free pass to take it out on others. Why does it seem logical to hurt others if you’ve been through hurt yourself (hence why her supposed drag phobia is utterly hypocritical)? I understand the implications of someone calling her he but do you really think poor old Amanda had any ill intention? For her to take all that angst out on someone who means no harm and forcing her to a point of begging with apologies kinda rubs me the wrong way. |

This would be smth the op would have to answer but I’m pretty sure you’ve heard the phrase ‘feeling like your in the wrong body’ and I think that describes what a lot of trans people suffering gender dysphoria go through. Again I personally believe a lot of it is socially constructed and nurtured to an extent though a lot of people believe it’s something innate and that they’ve always knew yada |

Really interesting to hear your point of view and experiences Claire, and welcome to the forum. I do think that a lot of the negative reaction towards India is due to her behaviour, she seems generally like quite a self centered person for example and I think that's just her and it's fair to judge her on that, without it being about her trans status. I don't doubt how frustrating and difficult it can be to live that life though and yes bigotry definitely exists and will be a factor in some people's judgements of her, but disliking a trans person isn't bigoted in itself, if them being trans isn't the reason they are disliked.

Yes, people clearly do not like India as they are 'ignorant and thick ' and not because India is a narcissistic twat with a huge attitude problem.
I don't believe in ladybrain. Science agrees with me too. Not sure which studies you have been reading, or where you have heard that male and female brains exist, but it does not appear to be the case at all. Brains are mosaic, and plastic. Also lets assume ladybrain exists..people still go on what they can see with their own eyes, and they cannot see insides someones head. Also India reminds the others near constantly that she is not female, as she keeps going on about her life as a male. Hence misgendering by mistake on occasion. Her behavior has been utterly shocking. I don't get why its so much more preferable to write the majority of both housemates and viewers off as transphobic and ignorant, than it is to accept that this particular transperson is a ****ing knob. No-one really cares is someone is LGBT these days, especially on this forum! Dislike of India comes from her behaviour, not an inconsequential aspect of herself.
As for the "ladybrain", studies suggest that transpeople have grey and white matter ratios correlating with their gender they transitioned to. But everyone in the most-cited study had been on hormone therapy for some time, which could have affected the brain chemistry.

I think Courtney/Shane has a wonderful attitude and is very open to discussion about who he is. He isn't easily offended by others opinions and is a wonderful representative of the LGBT community.
By contrast India is looking for offence. She may be troubled and have psychological issues about feeling she is a woman but those are her issues. It's her need to be recognised in every way, not everyone elses obligation. Others can only be polite and try to accept her for who she is. Insinuations of bigotry and transphobia are thrown around a bit too quickly and I think people have to understand that no one else is in our head and if they don't understand, or we appear another way to them, it's not some kind of serious crime and we just have to get on with it.
