Default Leaked production guide shows dumpings are "fixed"

Quote:
The 408-page ITV “production bible” shows bosses:

- Meddle with votes to get the result they want

- Factor in “a safety net” to avoid losing key characters during the votes

- Steer their favourite islanders during recouplings to ensure they are not at risk

- Direct the islanders constantly and set up fake conversations in the villa

- Ply contestants with booze to ensure plenty of drama

- Fake the sending of texts — in fact, the islanders are reading scripts
Quote:
The manual spells out that the effect of audience votes should be limited as much as possible. It says: “The audience love making show-affecting decisions.

“But as producers it is important to be aware of not handing over to viewers control of key decisions that would have a significant impact on the narrative. There is always a way to narrow the options for the audience so they don’t go wild.”

It recommends the use of a safety net, such as introducing a public vote to protect popular contestants, even if they have been voted off by other islanders.

Alternatively, producers can give islanders the final say if the public vote does not go the way they want.

The document says this will “help them [the public] come to the right decision!”

It adds: “If you do a vote-off you need to be fairly confident you won’t be losing a key character, or factor in a safety net.”
The Sun

lol this doesn't really bother me, now that the show is popular the public votes have been clueless so it's probably for the best! Does beg the question why don't they just stick to recouplings and internal votes though, much prefer that format anyway

The real question is when will Big Brother?

I don’t watch it myself but i thought this was common knowledge? I also keep seeing people on Twitter complain about how boring and scripted this series has been compared to last so you would think they could write more interesting scripts? I don’t see this lasting beyond a few more series before it gets axed! She will never live to see the age of 19 like our B.B.!

I think the whole show is scripted tbh, from what I have seen of it this year...s1 seemed natural but this years? I gave in 3 weeks in as it was clearly just TOWIE style scripted rubbish

I think most of the casuals are a bit...slow...let's put it that way. It's certainly been common knowledge that they set up (not script) conversations and that the producers play a prominent part in their day-to-day lives, but there wasn't really any obvious evidence of them manipulating vote-offs

At the end of the day though the voting is free so do they really have any grounds to complain? I'd be interested to see where that stands legally

When I said fhis was happening on BB years back I was shot down in flames

They have really dumbed down LI, watching S1 it seems alot more honest and not as PC as the current show, how was nob Jonathan so popular that had to be producer manipulation

But iirc both had kind of come to the end of their narrative and producers probably knew there were no late Entrants going in looking at those two as potential partners

BB already kind of do this anyway, they manipulate the nominations and evictions and there is hell on about it every year

This reminds me of the day I learnt that Father Christmas wasn't real.

The stuff of dreams some of these quotes, the public need to be saved from themselves - always good to see a producer realise that!

The producers have saved Meg multiple times by having Wes decide if shes safe or not each time she was in the bottom.
