Yes it was. Or else there would have been complaints to Ofcom and then more 'Oh BB is so racist' hence the series is ruined. This clears up all the problems properly and quickly.

It was definately the right decision. The producers know they would have come under alot of critisism if they had not ejected her so it was for the best. Hopefully now things can move on and we can just enjoy the rest of the show.

Yes, absolutely no point or justification for using that word.

Yes, definitely.

Up until her Diary Room conversation, I'll admit, i felt a little bit of sympathy, but then she said "where i come from, we use it just fooling around, to make fun of each other" - What? She uses that word to make fun of her friends!!??! I think that's just disturbing and wrong.

Absolutely. She read the rules (or at least should have), and she broke them.

I agree about the Diary Room conversation, Arneldo.

She let herself down badly there, even though she was half asleep.

She will hate herself for that.

Emma said something pretty similar after she'd used the same word during BB5, too.

This is a really hard topic. I don't think there is a wrong or right arguement for and against, therefore I think it was right to remove Emily from the house. BUT she shouldn't be slated from it.

I think Big Brother has used her to set an example but I agree with this descion.

But I also think Charley was a tad devious to keep on talking about it...and if anyone who saw the BBBM clip of her talking how she'll be in the papers...

I cant remember a time when Emma ever used that word in the house. Maybe it was something picked up on Live feed and discussed on forums but i dont remember ever hearing her say that on the Highlight shows or reading it in the papers. So i cant really comment. If you can find me a link to somewhere were it was discussed or any evidence i will gladly comment. I know that Emma said some thing which Victor found offensive at the time, but i don't recall her ever using that word.

Okay, I'll gladly find you a link. I'm sure there'll be a mention of it here somewhere, although it pre-dates my TIBB registration. But before all of that, please don't think I'm looking for an argument about it. If you search my member name with 'Emma', you'll see that she's one of my favourite former hm's.

I think both girls used the word, like George Galloway said earlier on BBBM, to try and come across as 'street'. Whether they meant any malice or not, they still said it, and you can't take back what's been said. I mentioned it because fair enough, you think Emily was in the wrong. But I thought it was a little confusing that you'd condemn her for it, yet actively support Emma in your signature when she'd done exactly the same thing herself. In fact, Emma said it twice.

because black people are ALLOWED to say it.

will you please do some history on the word, its easy just click google.

white people have used that word to torture black people for years and years, black people have every right to turn it around and make it there own.White people on the other hand should NEVER let the word past there lips.

It amazes me how people like yourself cant see that.

I've taken a search on the forum and I found THIS topic from the time Emma was removed from the house. In a post made by a member it has a quote from an interview with Emma from The Mirror. I have a copy of Emma’s Interview with The Mirror and I have skimmed over it and I can’t find that quote in this interview so either the poster is telling a lie or it is possible the interviews are not the same. If she did say it and in such a violent and aggressive way then I apologies and I feel very very disappointed and quite sad and ashamed that I have supported her so strongly for so long. A poster also says that Emma commented "stop acting like such a black guy", I remember her saying that and maybe I’m a bit biased but I don’t think she meant it in a racist way and I don’t think it is racist and I think she what she meant was that she wanted Victor to stop acting like a gangster when she didn’t think he was, and she said that to him.

No, she (Emma) didn't say it in a violent or aggressive way at all. She said that she had friends from different ethnic backgrounds and stuff, and said that it was a part of her and her friends' everyday conversation to use that particular word. She was completely naive, and couldn't understand why Victor found it offensive, although she was sorry that he did. That's similar to the way in which Emily used it, I think. It was stupid, it's an incredibly offensive word, and obviously many people watching at home would've been offended by her using it. But she didn't use it maliciously against Charley, just as Emma didn't use it maliciously against Victor.

In answer to the poll, yes, but only in the context of Big Brother and Channel 4's poor handling of their last series.

They had no option but to eject her, but it's not a debate in the context of real society.

If all society was to be constrained to this double standard, what a truly sad fact it would be.

OMG! 80 votes it virtually 50% each!?
How the hell did that happen!?

I thought everyone was pretty much agreed that although the action was exstream under the circumstances it had to be done.
