Does anyone know what's happened to the BB1 contestants?

I know Craig and Anna are working on tv programmes, and Mel did that daft show on Sky One, but the others seem to have faded into obscurity.

Anyone know anything interesting?

Here's a transcript from a 'Where Are They Now' article from NOW magazine (January 2002) about the BB1 housemates:

ANNA NOLAN

Regularly pops up as a pundit on I Love the 70s/80s/90s type shows, but has now landed her own show for BBC Choice. Anna in Wonderland, a 'gender based documentary series', will start in March.

CRAIG PHILLIPS

The first series winner is now so successful that he's winding down his building firm. He currently fronts his own DIY show Boyz in the Woods for Discovery Home & Leisure and has just finished recording two programmes for the BBC: House Call and Trading Up In The Sun. Craig has his own website on which, among other things, you can see calendar shots of him semi-naked.

SADA WALKINGTON

Published her book The Babes Bible but, after a reported lesbian fling with housemate Nichola, Sada has returned to her hippy-dippy roots and is in India training to be a yoga instructor.

NICHOLA HOLT

A failed stab at pop stardom led Nichola to turn her back on pursuing a showbiz career. She has now returned to designing and is working on her next fashion collection from her Hertfordshire home.

NICK BATEMAN

Signed to The Sun for a reported £70,000. Wrote a book called How To Be A Complete Bastard and hosted a TV series called Trust Me. Has done two seasons in panto and is looking for future TV work. He has dated Penny Ellis and Sopranos star Edie Falco.

CAROLINE O'SHEA

After turning down an offer to pose nude for the Sunday Sport, Caroline has recorded an album, which she's touting around record companies in the hope of landing a recording deal. She employs an agent, is looking for TV work and has not yet returned to her job as a sex aid saleswoman.

MELANIE HILL

Landed her dream job when she won a 12-month contract to be Marie Claire's travel reporter. Was widely tipped for an MTV job, but instead hosts a dating show for E4 called Chained, which is now in its second series.

DARREN RAMSAY

His love of chickens led to a lucrative endorsement deal with Chicken Tonight. He's also a regular presenter on the Disney Channel and UK Food.

ANDY DAVIDSON

His biggest showbiz monment came when he presented Channel 5's Exclusive for a one-month stint. No presenting work since and he's now backpacking round Australia while he considers his future.

CLAIRE STRUTTON

Mum to three-month-old baby Pierce by housemate Tom. Claire has just done a stint in panto and is looking for part-time work while she takes care of her new baby.

TOM MCDERMOTT

The new dad sold stories of his romance with Claire, plus photos of their baby. Did a nightclub tour and a stint in panto in Ireland. Now looking for future TV work.

It is nice to know what the BB1 people are doing now

It seems that we all forgot them because BB2 was so popular but if it hadn't been for those 11 people living their lives in front of us, we'd never have met Helen and Paul and they might never have fallen in love!!!!!

Its true - they did start it all! None of them have made it BIG but they have all had a bit of fame, Big Brother doesnt necessarily mean that every one is gonna land tvjobs or record deals; some get lucky like Helen and Brian, some just fade away like Sada and Nichola!

yeh i no even tho i didnt watch bb1 i have heard so much about the housemates from here that i like to know what they r doing! even if they dont quite live up to the bb2 standards
