I had to google some of the others, Nadiya had Debbie Harry show up in her "people also search for" ... why is Queen Blondie in the same search results as a random tv chef? |

JK Rowling has the companion of honour that has just been awarded to Elton John.
It's for having so much money but not giving too much away probably

I'm sure that was a crushing blow. I'm not for a second suggesting that it is the job of self made people to fund charity. However, if awards are for philanthropy then let's see where these tax free lump sums ..I mean charity donations go.

Retirement age is a suggestion not an order. It just means you have reached an age where you are entitled to claim a pension. Nothing to do with tax.

Well obviously...There's no JK Rowling homeless shelter is there?
Proportionally her donating 10k would be the equivalent of us donating about 10p. So to be worthy if any 'award' her donations must be substantial. I'm wondering who the lucky beneficiaries are?

As of 2011 she donated over 100 million. Most causes are about children. Rowling has contributed money and support for research and treatment of multiple sclerosis, from which her mother suffered before her death in 1990. In 2006, Rowling contributed a substantial sum toward the creation of a new Centre for Regenerative Medicine at Edinburgh University, later named the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic.[190] In 2010, she donated another Ł10 million to the centre,[191] and in 2019 a further Ł15 million.[192] wikipedia Some of the later hp universe books were written exclusively for charity with all profits going there Last edited by Twosugars; 28-12-2019 at 01:34 PM. |

Ainsley Harriott, 62, and Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, 35, are both made MBEs for services to broadcasting and the culinary arts.

I don't really know Nadiya Hussain but she won Bake Off and it's an outstanding achievement to culinary arts?
