Default Gordon Brown to star in The Simpsons

Quote:
GORDON Brown is being lined up for a role on The Simpsons.

Producers want the Prime Minister to follow Tony Blair who appeared in the cartoon in 2003.

The plans have been revealed by Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa Simpson in the US hit.

She said: “It would be great if Gordon Brown did it. Tony Blair was great fun when he appeared. Let’s face it, Gordon could be around for a long time too.”

A show source added: “Tony Blair was a huge draw. The aim now is to try to persuade Gordon.

“Should he say no, they would use an impressionist, just as they did with George Bush Senior.”

Mr Blair secretly recorded his 50-second part — welcoming The Simpsons at Heathrow — in Downing Street.

But creator Matt Groening this year said he would not ask Mr Brown as convincing one PM a century was sufficient.
