Default PRESS RELEASE: Housemates Fail Third Task

BIG BROTHER HOUSEMATES FAIL THIRD WEEKLY TASK

Big Brother has announced to the housemates that they have failed their third weekly task. This means they have still not passed any task since they entered the house.

This week, Big Brother set the housemates a ‘Handbell’ weekly task. The housemates decided to bet 65% of their total weekly shopping budget on successfully completing the task so, having failed, they will have just £32.55 between nine people to spend on supplies for next week. This is equivalent to £3.60 per person for the whole week. Their shopping will be delivered on Sunday.

In this week’s task the housemates had to work together to memorise a mystery piece of music, using handbells with no clappers. Today they had two opportunities to perform the music - which was revealed to be ‘An English Country Garden’ - with a set of complete handbells, but failed both times during the allocated ten minute period. They would have passed if they’d completed the tune perfectly, at least once, with all 94 numbers in the right order from start to finish. They failed on both attempts. The housemates all took the news well and joked amongst themselves.

On hearing the announcement that they’d failed the task, the housemates were told they will be rewarded if they correctly named the tune they had been practicing over the past few days. After naming the tune correctly, they were told they will receive a Chinese takeaway and other refreshments this evening.

This is how the housemates failed this week’s task:

FIRST ATTEMPT

· They completed 55 notes when STEPH played her bell instead of SCOTT.

· There were 39 notes remaining.

· They continued and the final nail in the coffin was when JON played totally the wrong note.

· The Housemates then gave up.

SECOND ATTEMPT

· They completed 34 notes when JON forgot to play his note. This threw them all and GOS even had to cue JON for him to remember.

· NUSH then played her bell instead of STEPH.

· Then TANIA played the wrong bell.

... and more importantly "refreshments".

Let's hope it's something a bit stronger than lemonade!! I like to see them get a bit tipsy!!

I feel so sorry for them - they tried really hard to pass this task. At least they've got a small 'consolation prize' from Big Brother this time.

Thank goodness it wasn't Fed who messed up this time . . . . . . . Can't quite believe one of them who did was 'Mr I Know Best' John.

That seemed to me to have been the hardest ever task of any BB series - don't you think?

I think it really put them off when they actually got the bells. They seemed to go to pieces

I agree I think this is the hardest task ever.

Still at least they are getting a take-away.
Good for Big Brother.

They deserve something for the all hard work they put in.

I really felt for them when I watched this afternoon! It was very hard for them to have to play for the first time with the bells - I think Big Brother could have given them half an hour to practice with the real bells before they had to do it live.

I don't think anyone guessed the tune did they? It sounded good though!

At least they got something out of it - Big Brother has a heart after all.

Story from Ananova

The housemates have blamed Big Brother for the failure of their latest bell-ringing task.

They reckon Big Brother didn't give them enough time to practice with the actual instruments prior to the final examination of their memory test.

They failed both times during the allocated ten minute period by playing the wrong notes.

"It was like having to learn to mix like a DJ but with no records," Sissy told Jon, who agreed.

Federico added: "It had nothing to do with memory. It wasn't a memory task."
**********************************************

I tend to agree with them on this.

As BusyBee and Kaphc said, it really put them off their stride when they were finally given the real bells to play.

Maybe that's one of the reasons why Big Brother decided to give them a treat even though they failed the task.

I thought the task was very difficult this week. I'm glad it was Jon who lost the task. He really has been quite insufferable this week. He is such a know-it-all. Although I quite like watching him, if I had to live with him I think they'd have to hide the kitchen knives.

Peachy - I too loved the fact that Jon failed the task.

This is the Mr Perfect who says that Big Brother has not given him anything to test him - he can do it all.

Although I want him to stay in - if I was in that house there might be a little sleep walking with Jon getting suffocated
