Honestly I know that modern Strictly isn't as good as some of the earlier to middle series.

But **** me I think I only found Angela S & Eddie's dances to be actually entertaining tonight.

Although Shirley giving Eddie's dance a 10 may have been a stretch too far.

And look I know that making a TV Show isn't easy, especially when it's an old Show like Strictly that's been around for two decades at this point.

But I have to be honest, there's too many contestants in this lineup that are never going to deliver fun dances due to (in fairness) limitations that they can't help having, it's obviously not their fault for having these limitations.

And then some of the younger contestants are just really bland three weeks in, some of them can technically dance, but overall most of the younger contestants seem either old before their time, or the polar opposite which is to behave like a little kid.

I know I'm probably being really harsh, but it's honestly how I felt after watching tonight's dances.

I was moaning near all through it Mock.

Very few I liked really.
Some of the choices of music too was dire, for me anyhow.

On themed nights some get great themes and others get awful ones.
The bad theme and costumes hamper the dance.

I just take it for what it is at this point, Mock. I never watched the old series of Strictly (only when someone else had it on and even then only passively) but one thing it does do is fill a void on certain types of Saturday night. Sometimes you just get a laugh out of one or two performances and that’s all you really need to keep you ticking along at this early stage (ditto for BGT and X-Factor). No doubt it’ll heat up as the weeks go on.

But I agree that half of this week’s themes were horrendous. I’m not ignoring that.

last night was amazing, almost all were good apart from Layton and that Nikita (and of course we had to see botox mommy again too in the audience )



i more disliked Layton too already because Grease is way too overused but his technique was shockingly bad (for someone who went to dance school )



i can never dislike Cabaret tbh, Money Money was a good samba for Joe/Katya few years ago but also works fine for charleston as seen last night
