Say you’re in the pub. (whether it’s a pub. that has strict policies about bringing in food and drink that hasn’t been bought in that pub. or not) or a restaurant and you’ve got a pocket full of part of a bag full of the paraphernalia (cookie-wrappers, an empty Lucozade-bottle, whatever), where are you binning the rubbish? In the pub or would you dispose of it separately somewhere outside?

If they have a trashcan, I'll bin it there or put it together for the servers when we pre-bus. I'll hold onto extra trash and I keep my door cubbies empty for travel purposes in my vehicle (for finished beverages or for guests), so if I keep it and if I have a bag, I bag it and put it there. Then when I get out of the car, I check the cubbies and bin it then because our trash is right next to our driveway. If it's recycle-able and they don't have green bins, I hang onto it so I can throw it in Recycle at home.

I tend to throw drinks in a bin before entering the venue.

I don't tend to eat outside very often, unless it's in a Restaurant of course.

I like to just throw mine out somewhere-else because I’m just aware of the fact that some pubs (and so on) are stricter than others when it comes to consuming any type of food or drink purchased from another establishment, even something little like a Lucozade or a packet of Skittles. When that’s how it is, I guess technically chucking of the waste might just seem cheeky, especially to people who are very strict about upholding the rules (tight managers). I’m sure most would be more lenient but I just go with that blueprint to try and contain litter when I’m eating/drinking out, just in-case the manager’s pedantic like that. But even then I’d bin other stuff (like gum, like tissue). Just not anything related to food or drink (gum ain’t really food).

The only places that have this rule here are movie theaters and horse tracks. They will enforce it at the door. Anyway, that's what purses are for... it's never stopped me buying food from there, though. I'm still going to have a good time. And yeah, I will carry my trash out. It's fine. I feel bad for staff when entire families seem to leave the seats and floors around them caked in popcorn and candy wrappers in theaters.

It's actually normal when people finish up eating, they don't clean their own tables. If it's a giant mess, they leave it for someone else to clean. (That's why I always carry around sani wipes ) We pre-bus and clean up because it just seems more grateful to staff who made/brought your food... but yeah, tipping culture is huge here and that would make sense why there's also more of a tendency to let the customer just do whatever in restaurants, bars, etc...

They only call themselves a pub here they're trying to be fancy and suggest they are offering that kind of experience, but it's still just a normal restaurant with a bar area...

I hear all that. I think I personally just like to air on the side of social conscientiousness just in-case. Even when managers are lenient, that conscientiousness can leak into taking finished drinks and plates that were bought on the premises back to the table. Some people do that, some don’t. I personally try to, save the bartenders a job.

As-for tips? Not really what we do in the U.K., although Uber likes to encourage customers to tip their drivers. It’s just that many people in this tough economic climate are lucky to be able to afford the Uber at-all, never mind giving tips.

A bin is a bin, the only time I wouldn't is if it were a recycling bin for plastic or whatever and that was not the rubbish I was getting rid of, not sure why anyone would walk about with rubbish in their pockets if there is a bin handy

But then again....it depends how long I'm planning on staying in the pub. Not that I'd ever walk about with a half packet of wurthers originals or anything, but yeah, It would probably be losing betting slips, and I would put them in the pub bin, probably from about 8 feet away originally, but eventually after much deliberation, from the floor to the bin, with a couple off uncontrollable groans as I do it.
